Motion to pass February’s meeting minutes made by Isabel, seconded by Sally.
Executive Reports
Treasurer Report – Mandy –not present
DPAC Report – Sandy – attended Math presentation on Tuesday night, funded by DPAC. It was great!
Hot Lunch – Georgina – hot dogs coming up on the 27th
Fruit & Veggie Program – Yvonne-grape tomatoes coming up
Carnival Report – Rhonda- tickets will be $1 per ticket, and they will be used for all games and food. Every Wednesday from now until May will be decorating night in the gym. Please come out and help. Food Safe person is JC. Information has gone out to the media, already. An event has been created on Facebook – send it to your friends! Dress up for the carnival. Re: the food, we have decided to purchase samosas from Bislas to make it easier. We will need to borrow some tables and arrange for transport of the tables, wither from Stawamus or Brennan Park. We will probably need to obtain 20 more. We’ll need to have all equipment here in the gym by Thursday night for set-up. Barbeques will be brought in. We are still looking for items for the Silent Auction. Please let Sally know if you have an item that can be donated.
Fundraising
DDA – Cash for Clothes – we have not yet heard from DDA, may happen this month or next month.
Bangra/ Zoomba Fundraiser – we raised $132 for the bhangra nights, which we split with Gurjit. Zumba’s coming up next week.
Wealthy School Revolution - ongoing
Business
New PAC Executive for next year – Sandy, Isabel, and Sally will return to the SPC. Sally will return as secretary. We’re still looking for a Chair, and Annemarie has offered to co-chair with whomever does step up.
We still owe money for Val’s power board, so that needs to be followed up on.
Upcoming Activities
Next hot lunch – hot dogs on the 27th
Carnival May 4th - BE THERE!
DPAC Meeting April 25 – we have Sandy and Isabel attending and we just need to arrange the teleconferencing with Whistler.
Principal’s Report
· FSA’s have been marked and should be delivered soon.
· Mrs. Booth/Knopp’s classes are in the thick of swim lessons.
· SPC-meeting with School Board went very well, we enjoyed the visit. Thanks you to a most gracious , caring SPC
· DARE continues – grad is tentatively booked for April 30th.
· Mentors continue to work with our students on Fridays- well received.
· Ready Set Learn event at our school was well prepared with lots of resources available. We had about 7 children and parents.
· Kindy library visit will take place on April 1st at 1pm.
· Mrs. Sollid will be back teaching one day a week (Wed) from April 18 to 16th. She will go full time starting Tuesday, April 22nd.
· Earth Day Assembly – 2:15 on Friday April 20th
· Pitch-In week is the week of April 24th
· Two-week Spring Break has been approved by the Board for next year.. The vote was very close.
· We are working with the Whistler Foundation currently and awaiting some news on upcoming technology that may be made available to our District, as long as we can match the funds. This is very tentative and nothing has been finalized.
· Parent-teacher luncheon is going on and will be on June 5th.
· Gymnast-in-residence coming in from June 11th to 15th.
· Sports Day is on the 8th of June.
